It was at camp that I knew God intended for me and my family to be involved with foster care, I just didn't know then the extent of what He had planned. 

Little Sofia felt heavy with the burden she carried for a while. She didn’t know of other kids in foster care, and it made her feel lonely.  “I have a burden,” she said. “I don’t live with my real mom anymore.”

Chicktime Birmingham and United Rentals are just two of many volunteer groups that are making a difference for the mothers and children in our Family Care homes in Gardendale and Mobile.

Kids across the state have found creative ways to help kids in foster care.

Kids got to just be kids—some for the first time in their lives. 

“I just wanted to do something exciting that would help other people,” Max Said.

This spring for their annual RED Day serve effort, a group of nearly 40 Keller Williams Metro South agents from the Alabaster area and many of their vendors came together and served moms and children in our Alabaster Family Care home. The difference they made is both immediate and long-lasting.

Laci, an ABCH volunteer and Hero Partner, shares her heart for our mission and her heart for stewarding her time and money well.

From their annual food pounding to helping at Christmas, the Cherokee Baptist Association has faithfully helped us serve children and families in the Oxford area for years.

Across Alabama, moms and children in the care of ABCH will have the opportunity for a good night’s rest because of these gifts from Bedzz Express.

While our in-person volunteer activities are currently modified in this season of COVID-19, we are still so appreciative of our volunteers and wanted to say thank you.

This fall, we were able to honor three volunteers in our Oxford office who have been serving our children and families for over 15 years!

Not a single month will pass in 2019, that a special group of co-workers in Mobile aren’t giving back in big ways to their community.

Since the beginning of our ministry, the local church has been an essential partner in our mission to care for children and families in need across Alabama.

Heath and Rachel Moye served hands-on by providing a catered-in seafood meal for our kids on campus!

Fusion classes in our Family Care homes are a new initiative we’ve implemented recently in Birmingham, and the community has really rallied around it, with business groups and church small groups regularly participating.

Stockings with Sass is a first year, hands-on giving project with a lot of heart! It was created by a volunteer with the hopes of providing Christmas gifts to moms in our Family Care program.

There are many things that make this tournament and church group special. For the people of Fairview, it’s more than just about raising money through a golf tournament. Because they live so close to our campus, they’re able to take an active part in the life of the campus.
